Winter Novice Sj Championships

2015 KBIS Senior Novice Winter Show Jumping

Well done to our team who represented the club at the National Novice Winter Championships at Hartpury on 4th April. The course was shiny, bright and big!! There were 15 jumps in the old small indoor arena and lots of turns and twists. There was a treble with single planks with no ground line. Not easy! In the first round we finished on a total of 4 faults with Caroline King and Pippa Balch doing lovely clear rounds and Chloe Hayward just tipping one pole for 4 faults. We ran with a team of three as Alison James had sudden serious family health problems and could not compete. In the second round the course was changed and the jumps went even bigger (so glad I was team manager and not having to jump them!). The team were very brave and supportive of each other. Chloe fell off in the warm up which had nerves jangling but her inexperienced pony pulled it back together and jumped round the biggest most atmospheric track it will have ever seen for just 4 faults. It’s eyes were out on stalks. Pippa pinged round again for just 4 faults and Carly had 8 on the evergreen Delilah who is definitely not up for retiring just yet! So our total for the two rounds was 20 faults which was very creditable with a final placing of 19th. Good team spirit and thanks also to Jill Cartlidge for helping and our supporters who came along.  Full results are attached to this email.
